Time for the Maxwell Road Endless Yard Sale

Posted

Saturday marks the day many yard sale enthusiasts have been waiting for — the day of the annual Maxwell Road Endless Yard Sale.

Spanning nearly 25 miles, the event takes bargain hunters on a trek along the back roads of Sampson and Cumberland counties.

The Maxwell Road Endless Yard Sale is fashioned like the 301 Endless Yard Sale that is held in June. That event travels down U.S. Highway 301 for a 100-mile stretch. The suggested starting time is 7 a.m.

Saturday’s event will include hundreds of vendors set up at residences, businesses and churches along Maxwell Road between N.C. Highway 24 in Stedman to U.S. Highway 421 in Clinton. From Interstate 95, you can take exit 52 at N.C. 24 East, turn left at the stoplight and that is where Maxwell Road begins. When Maxwell Road crosses N.C. 242, it turns into Highhouse Road in Sampson County.

Sherri Bostic started the Maxwell Road Endless Yard Sale several years ago as a way to make some extra money for medical bills. It is now held annually the second Saturday in August.

Details about the vendors, locations and items for sale may be found on the event’s Facebook page. In the past, vendors have sold new and used clothing, purses, jewelry, furniture, antiques, kitchen and household items, home decor, baby and children’s items, and much more. Refreshments and food trucks also are available along the way.
