Faith in system needed

Middle-class Americans have no problem obtaining a personal picture ID from a driver’s license, passport, etc. But what about those in insolated rural areas, the elderly or the handicapped? A simple ID that seems so reasonable and available for us can be a complication for those lacking transportation. Should these complications take away the right to vote? Has there truly been that extreme degree of voter fraud? Do the facts and endless investigations support the distrust of our elections? We have safeguards to protect the integrity of our choices for public office: registration records, forms and registrars.

Spending tax dollars on motorsports

The Aug. 24 edition of The Daily Record has a photo of a smiling state Rep. Howard Penny posing with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. (“Penny visits with NASCAR legend”). This was after Mr. Penny voted to give $45 million of your state taxpayer money to motorsports. What happened to Republicans that could say no to nonessential spending?
