Angier to rock with the sounds of local musicians

Posted

From morning to evening, the Town of the Crepe Myrtles will be rocking with the sounds of several local musicians this weekend.

The all-day Harnett Music Festival is Saturday with the first act taking the stage at 10 a.m. and the last at 9 p.m. Entertainment will take place at the Angier Depot, located at 19 W. Depot St., as well as at various businesses in town.

Now in its second year, the event offers a variety of genres that’s sure to satiate your cravings for live music.

“We have everything from acoustic to southern rock to R&B to country,” said AnnaScott Cross, secretary of the Harnett County Arts Council.

In addition to the Harnett County Arts Council, hosts for the event are the town of Angier and Get to Know Angier.

“The Arts Council exists to support and highlight the many talented artists in Harnett County,” Cross said. “We started off with our annual event, Chalk Fest, which highlights visual artists. After a few successful years of focusing our energy on that, we decided to add another event that would highlight musicians and vocalists.

“The first Harnett Music Festival took place in 2021, and had an amazing turnout, and we are so excited to partner with Get to Know Angier to make the event even better this year!”
