How are you today? Are you hurting? Angry? How about tired? Frustrated or sad?

Do you know that you can be honest about how you feel? I’m not talking about airing all your grievances or constantly complaining. I simply mean you can take your heart wrenching feelings to the Lord and pour them all out. The book of Psalms is filled with this very thing.

When your burdens are placed in Gods hands he can help you. You can ask Him to help take away or confront what you are feeling. He will be there for you. He listens and answers. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “We will seek Him and find Him when we seek Him with all of our heart.”

Do your feelings distract you from looking around and marveling at all God does each day. Do you miss the moments He gives you to really see His goodness and to trust He is faithful?

I will admit that I often miss the things He is working out and the beauty He gives us daily. My focus is on the cares of this world which causes me to lose sight of what has eternal value. The state of my heart is important. Matthew 12:34b says that the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Take time today to sit down and enjoy a glass of lemonade or a cool breeze. Sit on the porch or walk through cool, green grass. Call a friend and chat. Write a note or do some reading.

Take time to be still. God wants you to know how much He loves you. Did you see it in the sunrise this morning? Did you notice it when you went on break at school or work? What about when the sun went down? Did you pause to take note of the beautiful colors of the sky as the day faded to night or did the frustration with a co-worker or loved one distract you so that you had no time or energy to marvel at the beauty of this day?

God provides so much for us everyday, even in the midst of struggle He is working. When you can’t feel Him, He’s there. When you find your vision blurred by tear-stained eyes and your heart broken by anger or hurt, He stands ready to mend that brokenness.

When you have sinned and fallen so short, His grace covers you. Stand amazed at who He is and what He has done for each of us!

Hebrews 1:3 says, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Will you marvel or will you miss it?
