SMITHFIELD — Johnston County Public Utilities has declared a water shortage advisory due to a piping failure at the Johnston County Water Treatment Plant.
All water customers should immediately refrain from nonessential uses, including irrigation and filling of swimming pools.
The county expects the water shortage advisory to last at least 48 hours and will notify customers when the advisory is lifted.
