Guns, safe stolen during Four Oaks burglary


Detectives are investigating a residential break-in reported near Four Oaks. It happened on U.S. Highway 301 South near Parkertown Road.

The homeowner was away for three days and returned Sunday night to discover signs of a forced entry into the home, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Approximately $1,760 in property was reported stolen including a pistol, .22 caliber long gun, television, xBox game system and a small home safe. Damage to a window at the residence was estimated at $250.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
