The town of Erwin dedicated its Field of Glory with a special Flag Day ceremony Tuesday at 7 p.m. near the gazebo on 13th Street.
The town is hosting its annual Field of Glory through June 18 at 200 N. 13th St., in the field outside of the Erwin Business Complex. Special guests from Pope Army Air Field and Operation Gratitude were in attendance.
Local Girl Scouts led the crowd in a flag retirement ceremony at the event. Local singer Allison Radcliffe sang the national anthem and local songwriter Chad Massengill performed the song he wrote, "Ripped and Faded."
Flags are sponsored to honor and commemorate loved ones.
Great photos! Thank you for being there!
