DUNN — Elmond “Ray” West, 64, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021.
He was born Oct. 6, 1957, to Jane and the late Elmond C. West. Ray was the oldest grandson of the late Carson and Betty West.
Ray was a 1975 graduate of Midway High School. He was a lifelong farmer and loved tending the farm with his father and then working with Jackson Farming Company.
A funeral service for Mr. West will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Mingo Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn during all services.
Ray is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary C. West, of the home; a son, Carson West (Megan) of Dunn; a granddaughter, Mallie B. West; a sister, Rebecca Beasley (Dwayne) of Leavenworth, Kansas; two nephews, Jonathan W. Beasley of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Joshua M. Beasley of Seattle, Washington.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mingo Baptist Church cemetery fund.
