Do you know this bank robber? Police need your help


Fuquay-Varina police are searching for the man who robbed the PNC Bank at gunpoint shortly before noon Friday.

Police were called to the bank at 1381 N. Main St. in reference to an armed robbery at 11:52 a.m.

The bank robber is described as a black man with facial hair. His age was guessed to be around 30 and he stood approximately 5-feet-5-inches to 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds. Witnesses told police he was wearing a white baseball cap with a blue or black logo or lettering, a black jacket and khaki pants.

The robber was armed with a handgun and left the scene on foot towards North Main Street, heading south, according to a post on the Fuquay-Varina Police Department’s Facebook page.

FVPD reports the robber may have had a get-away car parked at a nearby business. Officers were checking area surveillance cameras Friday afternoon.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.
