ANGIER — Local athletes were among the top winners during this year's Harnett County Tennis Academy Tournament, held at Neill’s Creek Park on Saturday.
Harnett Central High School's Kylie Guerrero took first place in the beginner junior division championship, defeating teammate Lauren Godfrey in the title match.
Central's Jacob Brown earned top honors for the intermediate junior division, defeating fellow Trojan teammate Reagan Gray.
Wayne County's Ethan Carlyle was crowned advanced junior division champion, while Davis Frazier of Wake County earned runner-up honors.
The adult doubles division championship was won by Joe Cockrell and Len White, topping Lucius Smith and Jeremiah Montgomery.
Saturday's event attracted 36 players from ages 8 to 72.
