PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Campbell placed five golfers among the top 12 individuals and claimed the team title Tuesday after rain and thunderstorms in the Florida Panhandle canceled the final round of the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic.

Isabell Ekstrom finished as individual runner-up, Emily Hawkins tied for third, while freshman Sanna Lundmark earned a top-10 finish (T9) in her collegiate debut.  Junior Alice Sundberg and sophomore Patricia Patricia Garre Muñoz tied for 12th.

In its first competition since March 2020, Campbell (306-305—611) finished with a two-stroke lead over Troy.

Ekstrom (79-72—151) birdied four of her last six holes Monday and was the lone golfer in the 53-player field to shoot even par.  The 2018 Big South Conference champion, Ekstrom led the field in birdies and par-4 scoring (+2) while collecting her eighth career top-10 finish.

Hawkins (76-76—152) produced her eighth top-10 showing.

The 2019 Big South Golfer of the Year, Hawkins led the field in par-5 scoring (-5) and made one of just two eagles in the field.

Lundmark (75-80—155) tied for third with 23 pars.  Sundberg (79-77—156) produced her best career finish, while Garre Muñoz (76-80—156) earned a top-20 showing.

Competing as individuals, Tomita Arejola, Sasha Hayes and Emily Mollard finished 17th, 23rd and 29th, respectively.

John Crooks recorded his 89th tournament coaching victory – second among active Division I coaches and third all-time – in his 30 years since taking over the women’s program.

Campbell continues its 2021 schedule Feb. 21-23 with the Gators Invitational hosted by The University of Florida at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida.
