GREENVILLE, N.C. - Jayden Gardner scored 22 and Brandon Suggs followed with 16 to lead four double-digit East Carolina scorers to help top Campbell 79-67 Saturday afternoon inside Minges Coliseum.

Of Gardner’s 22 points, 14 came from the free-throw line where he shot 14-of-16 as a part of the Pirates’ (3-7) 26-of-29 (.897) performance from the stripe compared to the Camels 9-of-13 (.680) effort.

In the final 10 minutes, Campbell cut it to as close as 7 when Milos Stajcic scored 6-straight points for the Camels to make it 59-52 with 6:48 to play. Campbell later cut it back down to an 8-point lead at the 2:31 mark but could not inch any closer.

Trailing by 8 at the break, Stajcic knocked down a three to draw the Camels to the closest margin of the game since the 14:54 mark in the opening half.

Cedric Henderson scored a career-high 18 points for the Camels (7-3) on 6-of-9 shooting from the field including a 5-of-5 mark from the charity stripe.

Stacjic, Jordan Whitfield and Austin McCullough all followed with 11 points for the Camels who shot 25-of-64 (.391) from the field.
