The Campbell men's and women's track teams brought home several honors, including five podium finishes, at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational this past weekend.
LYNCHBURG, Va.— The Campbell men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Liberty University for the second weekend in a row, competing in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational Feb. 12-13.
The team brought home several honors including five podium finishes and two individual event winners.
Campbell's Patience Marshall collected more hardware this season with a first-place finish in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.65m. This marked her third podium finish in just as many meets and her second first-place finish of the indoor season.
Senior Samuel Adams led the way for the Camels on the track, finishing second in the men's 60-meter dash. This was his second podium finish in two weeks after coming third at the Brant Tolsma Invitational last week and his third on the season as a whole.
Andre Douglas continued his winning ways with his third first-place finish in three meets. The freshman earned his first-place finish in the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.51m.
Rounding out the accolades in the field, CJ McBride earned his third podium finish of the season in the men's triple jump, with a mark of 2.05m to earn him third place.
Fellow senior Trevon Compito, earned his first podium finish of the season, with a third-place finish in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.49 seconds.
The Camels will compete next at the JDL Camel City Invitational on Feb. 19-20, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
