The Anderson Creek Academy board voted to make masks mandatory for the charter school Wednesday night.
Board members say they will continue to follow the Strong Schools NC state guidance from Gov. Roy Cooper and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Under the Strong Schools guidelines, educational facilities that require masks will not have to quarantine, require social distancing, limit nonessential visitors or limit field trips and can host assemblies.
The first day of school for students at Anderson Creek Academy is Aug. 23.
