Two additional pilots remembered

To the Editor:

Enjoyed reading the article “Airports in Dunn, 100 years ago” [“Into the Past” Dunn Area History Museum column, Sept. 24]. I was familiar with some of the locations and two or three of the pilots. Two pilots that were omitted were popular in the Dunn-Erwin area in the late ’50s and early ’60s — Paul “Boots” Tripp and George “G.R.” Pope. Both were good friends with Keith Finch. Thanks for the memories.
