A call about a suspicious person resulted in a two-car accident and several drug charges in Dunn last week.
Dunn Police officers responded to a call of a stationary vehicle with a driver suspected of using a controlled substance just before 4 p.m. Thursday.
Dunn Police found a vehicle matching the description of the suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on North Ellis Avenue.
Officers activated emergency equipment and attempted to stop Allen Ray Hall, 24, of Benson who then fled the scene at a high rate of speed, according to a Dunn Police press release.
The chase ended at the intersection of Lane and Jonesboro roads, where Mr. Hall’s vehicle collided with another vehicle.
Mr. Hall and the driver of the other vehicle were first treated on the scene following the collision, and both were taken to WakeMed in Raleigh for further treatment.
Mr. Hall will face several charges when released from medical care. The charges include possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony eluding arrest, careless and reckless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, stoplight violations and driving while his license was revoked.
Chief Chuck West said several agencies responded to the call. They included the Dunn Police Department, Dunn Emergency Services, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
