Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church will host an evening of gospel music on July 15 at 6 p.m., as multi-award winning musical family, The Bowling Family, will be featured during a special musical service. This evening is a part of the Piney Grove Chapel Super Sunday Night Series, as the church is hosting gospel music services throughout the summer.

The Bowling Family combines talent and sincerity to create an exciting, memorable musical worship experience. The members of this musical family are no strangers to the world of Christian music, enjoying a long list of accomplishments throughout their careers. Group founders, Mike and Kelly Bowling first met while Mike was a member of the musical group The Perrys and Kelly was singing with her musical family, The Crabb Family.

After the two married, Mike spent six years traveling as a soloist, while Kelly remained with The Crabb Family. Both achieved success; however, after the birth of their third child, the couple organized their own family ministry, with their oldest daughter, Hope, joining the group in 2013.

In recent years, No. 1 hits have flowed their way. Collectively, they have earned 23 No. 1 songs, dozens of Dove Award nominations from the Gospel Music Association, as well as three Grammy Award nominations. They have enjoyed being featured on the “Gaither Homecoming Video Series” and have also enjoyed performing at such locations such as Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, Brooklyn Tabernacle and The Potters House. The musical family is presently riding high on the success of their current Top 5 radio hit, “I Believe He’s Alive.”

Other recording artists scheduled to be featured throughout July and August include multi-award winning bluegrass gospel group, The Churchmen, who will be featured on July 29, as well as legendary quartet, The Dixie Melody Boys, who will be featured on Aug. 26. Other regionally-based groups scheduled to be a part of the series include The Walters Family, Mercy’s Cross, Tate & Marthieah and The King’s Messengers.
