A school bus carrying 21 students crashed outside of Benson Friday morning, leaving two with minor injuries.

According to Johnston County Schools Executive Director of Communications Nathanael Shelton, McGee’s Crossroads Elementary School Bus 703 was rear-ended by a car while at a bus stop at the intersection of Sanders Road and Benson Circle.

“There were 21 students on board,” Shelton told The Daily Record. “Two students were transported with minor injuries. All other students were either transported back to school or picked up by their parents.”
