Parents of students at Triton High School received a robocall Thursday, stating a student was found with a gun on campus.
The caller told parents that someone informed school officials that a student had a gun at school and a search of the student confirmed the weapon possession. This appeared to be an “isolated incident,” according to the call.
Deputies with the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Sheriff Wayne Coats confirmed that the 16-year-old student was on his way to the sheriff’s department at 4 p.m. Thursday.
