Separately worshiping together

Churches lead drive-in services under public gathering restrictions due to COVID-19

Pastors at Hood Memorial Christian Church and Jonesboro Baptist Church stood in front of crowds of cars in their respective parking lots Sunday morning, delivering praise and worship services drive-in style.

Several other local churches are offering similar services and using technology and ingenuity to continue worshiping under restrictions on public gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parishioners were able to stay in their vehicles outside the churches on Sunday and tune into services through the radio or Facebook Live. Pastors are also reaching out to their congregations through teleconferencing and other live video streams.

Pre-packaged communion was handed out to church members at Hood Memorial as they sat in their vehicles Sunday.
