Randall C. “Mad Dog” Padgett, 65, of Godwin was killed by an alleged drunk driver while riding his beloved Harley on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.

“Mad Dog” will be remembered as a biker, an ironworker, fisherman, supreme joker, pet lover, intelligent human, loyal friend and formidable enemy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtle and Roy Whittaker; brother, Tim Padgett; and father, Charles Padgett.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel Mitchell of Lynchburg, Virginia; siblings, Janet Frye, Chuck Padgett, Kathy Franklin and Phyllis Williams; good friend, Scott Brafford; sister-in-law, Kim Padgett; five nieces; one nephew; and 17 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, Nov. 8, from noon to 6 p.m. at Scott Brafford’s home at 3764 Hayes Mill Road, Godwin. Friends are encouraged to come share memories. Let’s send our brother away in a way that honors him.
