Raleigh District Union

The Raleigh District Union convened July 27. Host pastors were Eldress Laeulia and Dr. Michael Dials. The Youth In Action was held at the Cape Fear “A” Conference Headquarters. Call to worship and emcee for the evening was Ziara Williams. Opening selection was given by CFA Conference Youth Choir.

Scripture was read by Joshua Downing. Kole Thompson prayed. Syria Williams and Armani Taylor welcomed everyone. An inspirational skit, titled “Walking In The Image Of God,” was performed by Dr. Edith Pue and kids. A presentation was given by the Christian Education Department and Mother Sara Baker. Deacon Alphonzo McNeill gave the altar call and prayer. Union secretaries made the announcements and remarks were given by chairperson Elizabeth King and Pamela Haire, CFAC youth liaison. The benediction was given by the emcee, Zaria Williams. Refreshments were served.

On July 28, the Raleigh District Union convened at First FWB Church, Erwin. The host pastor was Dr. Michael Dials. Eldress Hattie Lyons gave the call to worship. Musical selection was by the RDU Mass Choir. Elder Morris Godwin gave the affirmation of faith and scripture was read by Eldress Kim Shyllon. Shelby McAllister prayed and Elder Willie McLeod introduced the speaker, Minister Matthew Moore. The topic was “Your Decisions Have Consequences.”

Seating of the cabinet was by Minister Matthew Moore and Eldress Kim Shyllon. Prayer of guidance was given by William Walker. Dr. Michael Dials presided over business and Teresa Hunter read the minutes.

At 2 p.m., the Union Workers Club was held. Elder Arthur McAllister presided. Mother Marie Jones presided over the Mother Board. Necrology was by Eldress Sylvia Hicks.

For the afternoon service, the call to worship was given by Eldress Sylvia Hicks. Musical selection was by Cutts Chapel Choir and scripture was read by Elder Morris Godwin. Prayer was given by Carolyn McDougal. Eldress Ella William introduced Dr. Selma Little. Her topic was “Dealing With The Delay For Deliverance.” Dr. Little also gave the benediction.

On Sunday morning, Sunday school was taught by Mother Wendy Woods. The Raleigh/Dunn District Unions convened at the Cape Fear Conference “A” Headquarters, Erwin.

Ordained for deacons were Brian Thompson and Glenwood McKoy. Dr. Michael Dials gave the invocation. The opening selection was by First Free Will and Sampson Chapel Choir. Minister Wilma Covington gave the affirmation of faith. Scripture was read by Eldress Betty Ray and prayer by Deacon William McLean. Margaret Woods and Krystal Thompson welcomed everyone and made the announcements. Sara Baker introduced the speaker Elder James Baker. His topic was “Too Messed Up To Minister.” Expressions were made by district elders and host pastors.
