The 2018 Boogie on Broad Concert Series presented by the Dunn Area Tourism Authority will continue for a special fourth concert set for Thursday in downtown Dunn.
The great family-friendly event begins at 6 p.m. and continues to 9 p.m. and features a free concert by The Tonez. This eight-piece band is dedicated to keeping crowds on their feet dancing and enjoying live music. With a growing mix of oldies, Motown, rock ’n’ roll, country, funk, R&B and beach music, The Tonez features seven vocalists, and every note of every performance is totally live.
This concert is being held in conjunction with the Cycle NC “Mountains to the Sea” bicycle race, making an overnight stop in Dunn on their way out to Oak Island.
Butch Halpin of Carolina Sounds will kick off the evening at 6 and will serve as the disc jockey for this concert with his high-energy, great line dancing music while adding to the family fun.
The event includes concessions and plenty of fun for children of all ages including sidewalk chalk, face painting and balloon creations by Sybil the Clown.
In addition to the Dunn Area Tourism Authority, these concerts are funded through sponsorships by chamber members. “Good music can help make you feel good. Add food, fun and a free concert, and it’s a wonderful way to spend an evening,” said Mr. Halpin, chairman of the concert series.
Boogie on Broad is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. The concert will be held on Broad Street, between Wilson and Clinton avenues in downtown Dunn.
In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Dunn Shrine Center, located at 211 N. Clinton Ave. For additional information, call the Dunn Chamber office at 910-892-4113.
