Elizabeth Marie Payne and Taylor Anthony Emory were united in marriage during an evening ceremony at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville. The Rev. Andrew S. Cannan officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Payne of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Payne Jr. of Springfield, Virginia, Elizabeth P. Walz of Newport News, Virginia, and the late Joseph E. Walz.
She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in exercise and sports science, with minors in medical anthropology and speech and hearing sciences, along with a Master of Science in speech and hearing sciences. She is employed with Nash UNC Healthcare as a speech and language pathologist.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil A. Emory of Dunn. He is the grandson of Marjorie G. Emory of Weaverville, North Carolina, the late Jerry L. Emory, Betty A Woolard of Washington, North Carolina, and the late Heber H. Woolard.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in political science, with minors in history and public policy. He is a third-year law student at Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and is a recipient of the Janette Soles Nelson Public Service Scholarship.
Maids of honor were Emily Steele and Sarah Evelyn Hicks. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister-in-law, Hannah Emory, Katy Courter, Kallie Arthur, Hannah Mauldin, Caroline Hall, Kendall Douglas and Kaitlyn Schwager. Flower girls were Ellie Emory and Lucy Emory.
Serving the groom as best man was his father. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother-in-law, Wayne Payne, Gavin Bell, Blake Leger, Will Hefner, Patrick Moloney, Jared Keever, Phil Jones and Brian Emory. Ring bearer was Chase Emory.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They reside in Raleigh.
