Deadline to purchase tickets is Oct. 15

Shellfish aficionados and rookies alike will want to get their tickets now for a fundraiser planned later this month to benefit the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Dunn Chamber Oyster Roast, presented by Dunn-Benson Ford, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the dealership located at 1700 W. Cumberland St., Dunn.

Join in an evening of casual dining under a big tent set up for the event while listening to music provided by local DJ Butch Halpin of Carolina Sounds Machine.

A limited number of tickets will be sold for the event. Tickets cost $50 each and must be pre-purchased by Oct. 15.

The price of a ticket includes your fill of tasty succulent oysters along with the fixings that go with them — butter, cocktail sauce, horseradish, banana peppers, hot sauce and crackers. If oysters are not your thing, they’ll also have boiled shrimp, barbecue sliders, coleslaw, boiled potatoes and hushpuppies.

Beverages will include sweet and unsweetened tea and bottled water. There also will be a small selection of canned beers available for purchase.

There will be a couple of shuckers available, but feel free to bring your own oyster knife, gloves and towel.

The fundraiser for the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce is being sponsored by a number of area businesses.

To get your tickets, contact the Dunn Chamber at 910-892-4113.
