Beulah Mae Clifton Johnson, 94, of 11098 N.C. 50 North, Benson, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 18, 1923, in Johnston County to the late Victor E. and Flossie Parrish Clifton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Artemis Johnson; daughter, Carolyn Sue J. Raynor; son-in-law, Bill Raynor; sisters, Leona Penny and Alene Fowler; and brothers, James Clifton and Thomas “Tom” Clifton. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, farmer and seamstress. She was a charter member of Friendly Chapel Church.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. The Rev. R.B. Parrish and Mack Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia J. Johnson of Wake Forest; daughters, Janet Wood and husband Ronnie of Garner, Angela Hughes and husband Marty of Woodstock, Ga.; sister, Myrtle C. Kornegay of Smithfield; grandchildren, Brent Wood and wife April, Victor B. Raynor, Lisa Wood Stainback and husband Colin, Tracie J. Shoe and husband Jerry, Angie Raynor McHargue and husband Chris, Maegan Hughes and Logan Hughes; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home and other times at her home.
