Normalizing insanity


As someone who cannot watch the national news, I am always looking for that off-the-wall news story. Something I can use to illustrate the normalizing of insanity in America in the hopes that one day my children will wake up to the fact that many of America’s political elites have completely lost their minds in their quest for power and complete ownership of your individual rights and freedoms.

It’s a scary time to be a freedom-loving American, especially if you enjoy a plastic straw or e-cigarettes and happen to live in Seattle or San Francisco.

In case you haven’t heard on the heels of San Francisco passing a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced her intent to look into a similar ban for Seattle. I know what you are thinking, but the mayor hasn’t completely lost her mind. Even if the e-cigarette ban becomes law in Seattle, this will not dampen the mayor’s support for heroin injection sites throughout the city.

Don’t worry folks, if you are planning to vacation in Seattle, you may still feel free to steal from local stores, use the sidewalk as a toilet, and use heroin openly in the city parks, but please leave your e-cigarettes at home.

You may ask, why do I care? It’s true I do not live in Seattle, and I do not use e-cigarettes, but I would like to think if I wanted to vape in Seattle, I should have the right to do so.

All my life I have heard the mantra, my body, my choice. Does that not apply to e-cigarettes? While it would seem to, to normal people, Mayor Durkan has completely lost her mind. Keep in mind this lady was elected to this office which highlights the greater point I am trying to make.

The fact that a majority of voters in Seattle volunteered to vote this tyranny upon themselves clearly illustrates my point that freedom-loving Americans will seek freedom wherever they have to go to find it. Obviously, all the freedom-loving people of Seattle left many years ago, meaning the once great city is forever doomed in the clutches of normalized insanity.

If this normalized insanity was limited in scope to just Seattle, we could all just laugh at their ignorance, but politicians like Mayor Durkan are a dime a dozen and someone actually elected her into office.

In case you were wondering, vaping on e-cigs is perfectly legal in Havana, Cuba, but not San Francisco, California. Let that sink in before you dismiss my warnings about the dangers of normalizing insanity.

If the Mayor Durkans of the world have their way, you, too, will live under the thumb of tyranny, and you may not even realize it.

To borrow a quote from former President Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream, it must be fought for.”
