During the eighth-grade promotion ceremony June 8, Dunn Middle School presented volunteer service awards to six outstanding volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year. Plaques were presented to Parrish Daughtry, Marilyn Hall, Lindsay Hobbs, Katie Neal, Erin Sychterz and Matthew Mountcastle.

Mountcastle was also presented the award for Harnett County Schools 2018-2019 Volunteer of the Year.

This award was presented for his outstanding service and the 706-plus hours he volunteered at Dunn Middle. For the past six years, Mountcastle has been a dedicated volunteer in the school’s band and chorus classrooms and as a test proctor.
