Jones, Norris exchange marriage vows

Kimberly Samaria Jones and Joshua Thomas Norris were united in marriage during a 4 p.m. ceremony Nov. 16 in Durham. Elder Jerry Jones of Zion Wall Free Will Baptist Church officiated the candlelight, double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gwendolyn M. Jones of Erwin and Samuel Jones of Cumberland County. She is the granddaughter of the late Clarence and Virginia McNeill and the late Rev. Odell and Beatrice Jones. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and is employed with Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools.

The groom is the son of Sharon Cassell of Danville, Virginia, and the late Ervin Norris. He is the grandson of the late Edward and Gladys Sparrow and the late James and Virginia Norris. He is a graduate of Danville Community College and is the owner and principal consultant of Organize Virginia.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Kimberly Lindekugel of Durham. Bridesmaids were Melissa Joyner, Chalet Lanpher, Lindsey Theodoridis, Jennifer Ballew, Keonna Hendrick and Lundon Sims.

Serving the groom as best man was Anthony Pharis of Camp Lejuene. Groomsmen were Trenton Norris, Samuel Jones, Eric Lundy, William Murphy, Sakis Theodoridis and John Bullock. Junior groomsman was Cameron Norris.

The wedding was directed by Joseph Smith.

Musicians were pianist and soloist Shequeta Murphy and guitarist Matthew Ballew.

Presiding at the guest register were Elizabeth Steiner, Lauren Haney and Tamara Akinbo.

Following a wedding trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, the couple will reside in Albemarle County, Virginia.

A reception was held at the Durham Armory. Assisting at the reception was Sonya Sutton.

The bride’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Durham Armory.
