Johnston County Public Schools was closed for students on Sept. 13, 14, 17, 18, and 19 due to Hurricane Florence. As a designated federal disaster county, recently passed legislation authorized the Johnston County Board of Education to waive these missed days for students and staff.
The Johnston County Board of Education voted yesterday to waive these school days, and therefore, there will be no make-up days required for students or staff.
The public information office for JCPS announced they are closely monitoring Hurricane Michael and communicating with Johnston County Emergency Services. A decision will be made regarding tomorrow’s school and work day by 5:30 p.m. today.
