Free community concert series to continue May 17.
The next concert of the 2018 Boogie on Broad Concert Series presented by the Dunn Area Tourism Authority is set for Thursday, May 17, in Downtown Dunn and will feature Jim Quick & Coastline. This free familyfriendly event will begin at 6 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m.
Jim Quick & Coastline are known for their all-out performances and deliberate, off-thecuff wisecracks. Quick has been a recipient of the Carolina Music Awards “Entertainer Of The Year Award” 16 times. The band plays something for everyone.
Butch Halpin of Carolina Sounds will kick off the evening at 6 and will serve as the disc jockey for this concert with his high-energy, line dancing music while adding to the family fun.
The event includes concessions and plenty of fun for children of all ages, including sidewalk chalk, face painting and balloon creations by Sybil the Clown.
In addition to the Dunn Area Tourism Authority, these concerts are funded through sponsorship’s by chamber members. “Good music can help make you feel good. Add food, fun and a free concert, and it’s a wonderful way to spend an evening,” said Mr. Halpin, who is also chairman of the concert series.
Boogie on Broad is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. The concert will be held on Broad Street, between Wilson and Clinton avenues in Downtown Dunn. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Dunn Shrine Center, located at 211 N. Clinton Ave.
