Jackson Glenn Barefoot, 17, of Godwin died Sunday evening, July 8, 2018, unexpectedly. He was born in Sampson County on Nov. 21, 2000.
Jackson was a rising senior at Midway High School where he was a member of the Midway High School Marching Band, Beta Club, the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra, and All County Band. He was also a member of Baptist Chapel Church.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Baptist Chapel Church by the Rev. Joey Cantrell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Renee Jackson and husband Brent of Godwin; his father, Jody G. Barefoot of Dunn; a half brother, Daylan Barefoot of Dunn; a brother, Eric Jackson and wife Cassie of Autryville; a sister, Brandy Barbour and husband Garrett of Autryville; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Doris Jackson of Godwin, Elsie Jackson of Dunn; paternal grandparents, Hugh and Mary West of Newton Grove, Leonard and Deborah Barefoot of Dunn; and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
