Cape Fear Valley Health announced Tuesday the Harnett County hospitals it helps manage are not included in a policy restricting visitors due to the outbreak of the flu.
Cape Fear Valley Health implemented a visitor restriction policy at all of its hospitals restricting children age 12 and younger from visiting this week. The policy was implemented because of the high number of flu cases in the area in recent weeks.
A press release from the hospital, sent out Tuesday, said Harnett Health’s two hospitals, Betsy Johnson Hospital and Central Harnett Hospital, are not affected by the policy and still allow child visitors at this time.
The hospital is asking that people experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat and runny nose are urged not to visit family and friends at the hospitals.
Patients are urged to stay home and call their primary care physician for treatment guidance.
