The Harnett Health Foundation’s annual golf tournament, one of the organizations largest fundraisers, will be held Aug. 22 at Anderson Creek Golf Club in the Anderson Creek community.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and there will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. This is an annual event that is open to all members of the community.
The proceeds of the golf tournament will benefit Harnett Health facilities and fulfilling equipment and resource needs such as renovations to the Betsy Johnson Hospital Emergency Department, bassinets for the nursery at Betsy Johnson, and support for the Medication Assistance Program which were all done with the proceeds that came from Harnett Health Foundation events.
“The Harnett Health Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Harnett Health, every donation, and contribution that our foundation receives matters and goes on to benefit the health system and the services that we are able to provide to the community,” Harnett Health President Cory Hess said. “Our current goal is to raise money for the Harnett Health Cancer Center to allow it to be a full-service cancer center that can address the medical needs of all cancer patients.”
Hess said he appreciates the efforts of all involved
“We are blessed to have ... not only the financial support from our community during our tournament but also the passion that everyone has for improving the quality of health care in Harnett County,” Hess said. “From sponsors to players, we enjoy the opportunity to be able to have a day to play golf and share our passion for healthcare. Our tournament features an opportunity to get to know the members of our medical team, administrative team and the support staff of the hospital in a fun filled day.”
