Golf tournament coming to Harnett County


The North Carolina Defense Business Association (NCDBA) in conjunction with the Fayetteville Technical Community College and North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) announced a golf tournament later this year in Harnett County.

The NCDBA Summer Golf Tournament will be held on Aug. 5 at the Anderson Creek Club. The tournament is open to members, nonmembers and the general public.

The entry fee to the tournament is $75 per player, with a special rate of $65 for active-duty and government employees.

Registration will begin at the club, located at 125 Whispering Pines Drive, Spring Lake, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

There will be a shot gun start at 9 a.m. Registration includes an open continental breakfast and lunch buffet.

The format is four person, captain’s choice.

Registration includes 18 holes of championship golf, green fees, cart fees and unlimited range balls for all participants before play. There will be professional scoring, pairings and hole assignments. Mulligans and other advantages will be sold during on-site registration.

There will be prizes awarded for first, second and third place team finishers. There will be two beverage carts featuring cash and carry beverages, pending sponsorships.

Special recognition will be given to closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one competition, putting contest, AR-15 golf ball launcher and a 50/50 raffle.
