You’re invited to dance and dine
Thursday night at The Barrington House.
The Erwin Lions Club is hosting the inaugural Vision First Barrington Ball.
There is limited seating and there are a few tickets left.
The ball will be Thursday at The Barrington House in Dunn beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“This is the first year we’ve ever done this,” said Rusty Godwin of the Erwin Lions Club.
It will be dinner and a dance. Dinner is catered by The Barrington House which will also provide a cash bar. Cost is $35 per person.
The Martin Davis Band will perform. They play beach music, pop, country — a wide variety. Carlie Barbour will play with them. He’s the guitarist for Harry’s Band which is mainly comprised of former Dunn High School classmates and formerly known as The Men of Distinction.
“All the money from the proceeds will go to the Vision First Project we use to buy glasses for people in the community,” Mr. Godwin said.
He said he wants to also bring awareness to those in attendance about the Lions Club organization, not just the Erwin club, but others in the county as well.
Several of the other Lions clubs are sponsoring tables.
“It’s an Erwin Lions Club project, but we’re hoping to bring people into Lionism,” Mr. Godwin said.
“This is our newest project. We hope people will come out and learn about what we do,” he said.
