The Dunn Rotary Club had 27 teams play in its annual golf tournament held at Keith Hills June 6.
The weather was fantastic, the course was in great shape and the players were in top form, all resulting in some low scores for this “Super Ball” tournament.
The winning team for the First Flight was the team of Brett McLamb, Fred Rambeaut and Craig Hornberger, shooting a 52. Honors for second place First Flight with a score of 54 went to Trevor Smith, Hugh Surles, Clint Knox and Jody Yarbrough. For the Second Flight, a score of 63 secured first place honors for Joseph Capps, Taylor Wells, Maggie Wells and Casey Capps, and a score of 64 shot by the team of Matt Capps, Sam Capps, Reid Wood and Ashton Wood brought them in at second place.
Closest to the Pin honors went to the following: Fred Rambeaut on hole No. 5 and Sheremy Tyndally on hole No. 8 on the Black Course; Brian Stancil on hole No. 3 and Taylor Wells on hole No. 7 on the Orange Course. Long Drive honors went to Brett McLamb on hole No. 6 on the Orange Course. Harold Layton won the closest to the pin on the practice putting green by edging up within 10 inches of the cup on a difficult long putt pin placement.
Proceeds from the event come back into the community as college scholarships and support the charitable arm of the Rotary Club.
