Staff and students at Dunn Middle School had their chance to shine recently when educators from across the state came for a visit to check out their career labs.
Dunn Middle and Paxton-Patterson, a supplier of classroom technology learning systems, hosted a College and Career Ready Labs Showcase for school districts across North Carolina to visit the labs and see the 28 learning modules in action.
Dunn Middle students demonstrated their skills on the different career exploratory modules and answered questions.
Pairs of students showcased modules such as laser technology, forensic science, electricity and electronics, alternative energy, structural engineering, digital manufacturing, flight technology, biomedical engineering, dentistry, nursing, medical imaging and many more.
“Dunn Middle School was honored to have Mr. Roger Davis, the owner and CEO of Paxton-Patterson on hand for the event,” said Dunn Middle Principal Dr. Janet Doffermyre.
Dunn Middle is an approved STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) school. It has the only career lab in the county and the largest in the state.
