Dunn Chamber presents Golden Apple to Dunn Middle teacher

The Education Committee of the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce presented a Golden Apple Award to Carla Cherry, exceptional children’s teacher at Dunn Middle School. Dunn Chamber Vice President of Education Hope Tyndall, and Dunn Middle Principal Janet Doffermyre made the presentation.

Carla Cherry was nominated by several colleagues to include John Page. The nominations stated, “Carla always goes above and beyond the call of duty for not only her students but her peers as well. She always has the best interest of her students in mind and makes sure her kids are engaged and learning while encouraging her students to try their best in all they do. She is a great EC leader and a joy to work with. She loves what she does and it shows. She is always pleasant and professional.”

The Golden Apple Award is a chamber program to help recognize the efforts of standout teachers in Dunn area schools. Administrators, teachers, counselors, parents and students are encouraged to nominate an outstanding teacher currently teaching full time at a Dunn area public or private school that is an active member of the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce.
