Deputies: Pot found in pickle jar

A Benson teenager was arrested on felony charges last week after a search of his southern Johnston County home.

On April 3, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents went to a home on White Horse Lane. Authorities said 18-year-old Nathaniel Joe Duggins was at the address when officers arrived. After opening the front door, agents said they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the home.

Upon a search, officers say they found 50 grams of marijuana concealed inside a pickle jar.

Mr. Duggins was charged with two felony counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Mr. Duggins was given a $2,000 secured bond on the charges.
