Coats-Erwin scored on its opening possession in rolling to a 28-7 win over Dunn Wednesday in the season opener for both teams played on the Greenwaves field.
Running back Eligah Holmes scored three touchdowns for the Falcons and added a two point conversion. Holmes finished with 170 yards on the ground. Wingback J.J. Cowan also scored and added 105 yards rushing. Quarterback Jamari Thompson adding a two point conversion for Coats-Erwin.
Jaeshaun Murchison scored the lone touchdown for Dunn and Carter Daughtry kicked the extra point.
Coats-Erwin will play defending conference champions Highland next week, while Dunn will play Shughart.
