Brunswick stew, bake sale set Saturday

First Baptist Church of Erwin will hold its Brunswick stew and bake sale Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $10 per quart. The church is located at 310 S. 12th St., Erwin.

Black’s Chapel to
hold dinner

Black’s Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a dinner Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal will consist of vegetable soup or chili, with a choice of salad or baked potato and comes with a beverage and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and younger. There will also be a quilt raffle. The tickets cost $1.

Anniversary banquet set to honor McKoy

The Healing Center Ministry’s Church family invites you to the 20th Pastoral Anniversary Banquet of Apostle Mary K. McKoy. This occasion will begin Saturday at 5 p.m. and will continue on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Sunday speaker will be Pastor Sabrina Lewis of A Word in Season Ministries, Apex.

Stedman Baptist
to host Southern gospel sing

There will be a Southern gospel sing Saturday at 6 p.m. at Stedman Baptist Church. Featured on the program will be the Port City Quartet and Larry Chason and Carolina Tradition. Admission is free; however, a love offering will be received.

Spaghetti plate sale set Friday

The WMU Ladies of Overhills Church are raising funds for Becky Waddell and Bobby Short. They have to relocate because their house reportedly needs a lot of work and the landlord wants to sell.

Spaghetti plates with salad, bread and dessert will be sold for $7 each on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Eat in or take out will be available.

Oak Grove to hold ‘Hattitude’

“Hattitude” will be held at Oak Grove AME Zion Church on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be speakers and a show of beautiful hats. Lunch will be served. The Rev. Nicholas M. Irion is the pastor.

Church anniversary, black history celebrations set Sunday

Pleasant Grove FWB Church, 1520 Casper Road, Dunn, will celebrate its anniversary and black history in an all-day program Sunday. Dr. Anthonnette Wright of Raleigh will lead the service at 11 a.m. and the Rev. Troy Williams will lead the program at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served.

Shiloh PH to host plate sale Feb. 28

There will be a barbecue pork plate sale Feb. 28 at Shiloh PH Church, 2271 Autry Mill Road, Godwin. The plate sale will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 per plate. Proceeds will go to the building fund. Eat in or take out will be available.

Pancake supper to be held at Banner Chapel

A pancake supper will be held Feb. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m at Banner Chapel Church’s CMC Building, 1771 N.C. Highway 50 South, Benson. Proceeds will go to support Camp Dixie, Harvest Day king and queen, and Pastor Joe Brown and wife Amy. The supper is sponsored by Mattie Beasley Ladies Group.

Pure in Heart to sing at Falcon COGOP

Women in Red program set Friday

Friday at 7:30 p.m., Good News Church will sponsor a Women in Red program. The speakers will be Dr. Gwen McNeill and Eldress Sylvia Hicks. The host pastor is Eldress Desserre Hicks. The church is located at 310 Townsend St. All are welcome.

Barbecue chicken dinner set at Blackman’s Grove

Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church Women on Missions will hold a barbecue chicken dinner on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship building on Wood-Lee Road, Four Oaks. Eat in or take out plates will be available. The cost is $8 per plate. Proceeds go toward local missions.

Biennial Levite Awards to be held Saturday

Anderson Creek Christian Center announces the eighth Biennial Levite Awards. This event will take place Saturday at 6 p.m. at 1680 Will Lucas Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. with a pre-show beginning at 5:30. Special guest includes comedian Tim Shropshie along with musical guest Jarell Smalls & Company.

Cameron Grove
to host blood
drive Friday

An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be hosted by Cameron Grove Church on Friday from 2:30 to 7 p.m.

The Cameron Grove Youth Department will present “Church Family Feud” on Sunday at 1 p.m. after the Soul Food Dinner.

The Broadway Community Ash Wednesday Service will be hosted by Cameron Grove Church on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Pastor Emily Blair of Broadway United Methodist Church.

The church is located at 309 Vernon St., Broadway.

Revival set at
Word of Power

Word of Power invites you to join them for revival Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Elder Frank Bellamy from Plain Vision Worship Center in Dudley.

Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m., Word of Power will celebrate the church’s seventh anniversary. The guest will be Bishop Robert Gilchrist and The Body of Christ Family Christian Center in Erwin. Music will be provided by Ricky Simmons from Louisburg. Dinner will be served following the service.

Buffet breakfast set at Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church will sponsor a country buffet breakfast on Saturday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. The menu consists of country ham, sausage, bacon, grits, eggs, homemade biscuits, red-eye gravy, peaches, jellies, molasses, coffee and juice. Donations are accepted for the meal. The church is located approximately 7 miles east of Dunn on N.C. Highway 55 near the N.C. Highway 242 intersection. The Rev. Jerry Hicks is the pastor.

to hold Black History Day

On Sunday, Sampson Chapel FWB Church will hold Black History Day. At 9:45 a.m., Phillip James from Sierra Leone will be present. At 11 a.m., the worship service will be rendered by Dr. Jason Caldwell from Power House of Deliverance Church, Greensboro. The attire is African. Pisgah Top to celebrate black history

Pisgah Top Bible Church of God will hold its annual Black History program Sunday at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Pastor Dorothy McLeod of Neighbor’s Bible Church of God. She will be accompanied by her choir and congregation. Lunch will be served after the morning service.

Good News Mission to host Women in Red program

Good News Mission Church, 310 E. Townsend St., will host its first Women in Red program Friday at 7:30 p.m. This event will celebrate the blood of Jesus Christ.
