Memorial Baptist to host clothes closet

Memorial Baptist Church, 271 Leslie Campbell Ave., Buies Creek, will host a clothes closet Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. It is open to everyone. Clothing and shoes will be available for everyone in the family.

Financial Revolution Conference set

Evangel Church will present a Financial Revolution Conference Sunday. Featured will be guest speaker Gary Keesee, an author, speaker, television host, and successful entrepreneur for more than 27 years.

Most families can be debt free in five to seven years, including their mortgage, without changing their income, according to Keesee. This conference is specifically designed to help folks understand the laws that govern the Kingdom of God so they can be applied to everyday life.

Sessions on Jan. 12 include “Your introduction to the Kingdom,” 11 a.m.; “The Power of the Double Portion,” 6 p.m.; and “The Practical: How to Apply the Kingdom,” 7 p.m.

Also, attendees will have an opportunity to receive a free personalized financial freedom plan.

Dunn COG to hold 2nd Saturday Night Sing

Dunn Church of God will hold its 2nd Saturday Sing this Saturday at 6 p.m. The Crusaders of NC will be the host group with guest group Canaanland. The church will sell spaghetti plates that include salad, bread and beverage for $8 in the fellowship hall from 4 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcomed. The church is located at 802 E. Godwin St., Dunn. The pastor is Bishop David L. Porter.

Spaghetti supper at Hood’s Grove

The youth of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church will hold a spaghetti supper Saturday to raise money for missions for a donation from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. The church is located at 677 Hoods Grove Road, Newton Grove. For more information, call 919-894-5977. The church will also hold an auction of paintings by the youth.

Reception and installation service set

The public is invited to a special service of reception and installation during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Providence Presbyterian Church at McGee’s Crossroads. The service will be led by the Rev. Nadia Stropich and a delegation of teaching and ruling elders from the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The honorably retired Rev. Don Neighbors will preach the sermon. The Rev. Bucky Hunsicker and ruling Elders Phil Stump and Jimmy Richardson will conduct special services to receive Providence and its ruling elders into membership in the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Following the service, there will be a reception held in the Upper Fellowship Hall for members and guests as Providence begins its ministry in fellowship with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The public is invited to join the church.

Chicken pastry plate sale Jan. 18

The youth group of Jonesboro Baptist Church will hold a chicken pastry plate sale Jan. 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 per plate. A drive-thru will be available. The youth group fundraiser’s proceeds will be used to fund mission projects throughout the year.

Jonesboro Baptist is located at 2020 Jonesboro Road, Dunn. Call 910-892-7763 for more information. The pastor, the Rev. Charles Price, invites everyone to come out and support the youth and enjoy the pastry.

Palmetto Street Praise at Trinity Lakeshore

The gospel singing group Palmetto Street Praise will be in concert at Trinity Lakeshore Pentecostal Holiness Church Sunday at 6 p.m. The group invites everyone to come out and enjoy gospel music and a time of worship. Pastor’s anniversary celebration

St. James will celebrate its pastor’s anniversary Sunday. Evangelist Regina Boney will be the speaker. Service starts at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served after the service. The church is located at 320 W. Harnett St., Benson. The pastor is Dr. Montorom Williams.

The Gregorys to sing at Newton Grove COG

The Gregorys will sing Sunday at Newton Grove Church of God. The concert starts at 6 p.m. The church is located at 366 Massey Road. Bishop David Jarman is the pastor.

Women’s Fellowship at The Love Center

The women of The Love Center invite you to their Women’s Fellowship Friday at 7 p.m. There will be fellowship, food, prayer and the word. The church is located at 345 Jackson Road, Dunn.

God’s House of
Prayer news

Family and Friends Day scheduled for this weekend at God’s House of Prayer has been canceled. Services will resume Tuesday with Bible study at 7:30 p.m.
