‘The Christmas Story’ cantata Sunday

The Adult Christmas Choir of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church at Lillington will present the cantata “The Christmas Story” on Sunday at 3 p.m. The church is located at 2793 N.C. Highway 210 N., Lillington. Seasonal prelude music begins at 2:40 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Community Christmas Tree Lighting

Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday at 5 p.m. They will have special singing with guest Chris Raynor and the choir will also perform. After the tree lighting, they will have cocoa, and apple cider with some snacks. The community is invited. The address is 5980 Stricklands Crossroads Road, Four Oaks. set Dec. 7

Free Gospel Community Church will hold a community sing Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Featured will be the Faith Singers and Ann Langston. The church is located at 205 Prince St., Dunn.

Holiday musical
set Dec. 14

A holiday musical, “Hats & Brims Luncheon Extravaganza,” will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at Holy Mission Holiness Church. A free lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and worship service begins at 2 p.m. Come enjoy the holiday season in your stylish hats and enjoy gospel music. Minister Greg Mitchell of Lillington will be the master of ceremony. Featured on the program will be The Lillington Mass Choir, Elmon Pipkin & The Spiritual Crusaders and international recording artist Bonita Simmons of New Bern.

Holy Mission is located at 180 Holy Mission Lane, Lillington. The pastor is Eudora Womack. The event is sponsored by Dr. Betty Franks.

Hanging of the Greens at Unity AC

Unity Advent Christian Church, located at 304 Unity Church Road, will present its annual “Hanging of the Greens” on Sunday at 6 p.m. Pastor Darren Brisco invites everyone to begin the Christmas season together. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Wilma Raynor is organizing the event.

100 Men in
Black program

The Sampson Chapel deacons ministry will sponsor its annual 100 Men in Black program on Sunday at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Pastor Larry Melvin. The guest will be Cedar Point male chorus. The host pastor is Eldress Laeulia Lisane. The church is located at 8709 Green Path Road, Dunn.

Faith & Power will celebrate Pastor LaVerne Spears on an appreciation service on Sunday at 4 p.m. The speaker will be Apostle Wilma Hampton from Miracle Revival in Selma. Faith and Power is located at 101 Hunt Valley Road Dunn.

Hanging of
the Greens at Pleasant Grove

Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church will hold its “Hanging of the Greens” service Sunday at 6 p.m., directed by Jenny Lucas. The pastor, the Rev. Don Fleming, along with the congregation invites all to join them for the service. The church is located at 290 Red Hill Church Road, Dunn.
