Yard sale set Oct. 5

Pastor appreciation service Sunday

Word of Power will host a pastor’s appreciation service Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bishop Oliver L. Pittman Sr. from Sure Promise Christian Church in Raleigh. Music will be provided by the Riverside Community Choir. Carryout dinners will be served following the service. The church is located in the Riverside Community at 4813 Bunnlevel-Erwin Road. Homecoming set at Beulah Baptist

Beulah Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday. Pastor George Arant will bring the message at 11 a.m. A covered-dish lunch will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.

Beulah Church is located at 3140 N.C. 242 S., Benson. Pastor Steven Campbell invites everyone to attend.

Fall lunch, supper at Jonesboro Baptist

Jonesboro Baptist Church will hold its fall lunch and supper Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Homemade chicken pastry and barbecue pork plates will be $8 each. Delivery is available for 10 or more plates. Eat in, take out or drive through is also available. An auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Gospel sing set at Free Gospel Community

There will be a gospel sing Saturday at 6 p.m. at Free Gospel Community Chapel, 205 Prince St., Erwin. Featured will be Faith Quartet and others. Everyone is welcome.

New Beginning news

Pastor Larry Baker will preach at Johnston Chapel Church Sunday at 11 a.m. The New Beginning Choir will render the music. The pastor is Elder Willie McLeod.

Faith Baptist to observe homecoming

Faith Baptist Church will observe homecoming Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Featured will be the Full Reliance Singers. The Rev. James David Tart is the pastor. Faith Baptist is located at 276 Neighbors Road, Dunn.

Harvest Day
is Oct. 12

Harvest Day will be held Oct. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church. Barbecue chicken plates with boiled potatoes/potato salad and green beans will be $8. Eat in or take out will be available. An auction will begin at 7 p.m. with lots of homemade cakes, goodies and a hand-made quilt.

Animal blessing service

St. Stephens Episcopal Church will host an animal blessing service Saturday at 10 a.m. All are welcome. The church is located at 201 Denim Drive, Erwin.

Homecoming, revival at Lees Chapel AC

Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church will observe homecoming Sunday with guest speaker, the Rev. Steve Lawson. The morning worship service will begin at 10:30. A covered dish lunch will be held following the service.

Revival services will begin on Monday night with the Rev. Scott Johnson; Tuesday night with the Rev. Adrian Dixon; and Wednesday night with the Rev. Thomas McMahon. Services will begin at 7:30 each night.

Lees Chapel is located at 4154 N.C. Highway 96 S., Four Oaks.

Bethel OFWB
to celebrate homecoming

Bethel OFWB Church, 3168 N.C. Highway 96 S., Four Oaks, will host its homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 13. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. and homecoming services will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow. Pastor Tod Creech and the congregation invite everyone. Mount Carmel PFWB Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday. The special guest speaker will be David Pait. Service time is 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served following the service. The Marksmen to hold anniversary celebration

The Marksmen will hold an anniversary celebration Sunday at 6 p.m. at Baptist Chapel Church. Featured on the program will be The Marksmen, His Voice and Kingsway Quartet. The church is located at 2208 Baptist Chapel Road, Autryville. Admission is free.

Barbecue chicken lunch, supper Oct. 12

New Zealand Church will have a barbecue chicken lunch and supper on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Plates are $8 each. A live auction will be at 5 p.m. Eat in or take out. The church is at 5312 Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community.

Erwin Chapel
PFWB to celebrate homecoming

Erwin Chapel PFWB Church will hold homecoming Sunday, celebrating 107 years. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Tom Dorman. Guest singers will be the Hickory Grove Quartet. The Rev. Danny Helms is the pastor and the church is located across from Cape Fear Christian Academy. Lunch follows service.

Mingo Hill
to celebrate homecoming

Mingo Hill OFWB Church will celebrate its 127th homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Pastor Louise Royal of Jackson Grove Disciples Church, Newton Grove. Dinner will be served. Anyone who was a former member or had a family member who was a member of Mingo Hill OFWB Church, is asked to come and join in this celebration. Mingo Hill OFWB is located at 7626 Plain View Highway, Dunn. The pastor is Elder Odetta W. Batts.

Women’s Fellowship set Oct. 11

The women of The Love Center invite you to its Women’s Fellowship Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. for “I got dreams and visions.” They meet the second Friday of each month. There will be fellowship, food, prayer and the word. The church is located at 345 Jackson Road, Dunn.

Pastoral anniversary at Smith Grove

Smith Grove will hold its eighth pastoral anniversary Oct. 9-11. Speakers will be Pastor Frank Bryant of Cumberland Union FWB Church, Oct. 9; Pastor Timothy Thomas of Dunn Chapel FWB Church, Oct. 10; and Pastor Dr. Linda McAllister of St. Anna FWB Church, Oct. 11. Service time is 7:30 nightly. Shirley A. Myles is the pastor. On Oct. 13 at 11 a.m., Betty Vann, overseer of Kingdom Builders Ministry, will be the speaker. Lunch will be served.

Concert set Sunday at Lee’s Chapel OFWB

Lee’s Chapel OFWB Church, 4948 Plain View Highway, Dunn, will host a concert Sunday at 6 p.m. Featured will be The Harvesters. The host pastor is Dr. Brad Williamson.

Homecoming Oct. 13 at Ebenezer UM

Ebenezer United Methodist Church located on Harper House Road in the Bentonville community will celebrate homecoming Oct. 13. The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Spencer, Ebenezer’s current minister, leading the service. A catered lunch will follow with donations welcome.
