Whitleys to be honored Sunday

Pastor Michael and LaRue Whitley will be honored on Pastor’s Appreciation Day Sunday at Dunn Advent Christian Church. The morning worship service will begin at 10:30 with the message being delivered by Pastor Whitley. He has been with the church for 26 years. A covered-dish luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the morning worship service.

The church is located at 700 E. Pearsall St., Dunn.

Hodges Chapel
to host bingo

Hodges Chapel Church, 780 Hodges Chapel Road, Benson, will host bingo Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Bingo cards will be two for $5 or additional ones for $2 each. Concessions will include hot dogs, chips, pizza, homemade doughnuts and drinks. An auction ­— including homemade baked items and a vacation to historic Williamsburg, Virginia — will be held at 8 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Pastor’s
pre-anniversary celebration set

There will be a pastor’s pre-anniversary service Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church. The guest speaker will be Pastor Coleman Elliott of Lillington Grove Church. Services will continue Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. with Overseer Mildred McNeill of Bible Way Church, Linden, as the speaker. On Sept. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m., there will be a banquet at Wade Community Center. Tickets are $10 per adult and $7.50 per child.

Services will conclude Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. with Elder Quintin Jamal Johnson of Mount Pisgah Original Free Will Baptist Church as the speaker. At 4 p.m., the speaker will be Pastor James W. McGrady of Jesus Peace Ministries, Fayetteville.

Bethlehem FWB is located at 2837 Rich Walker Road, Wade. The pastor is Dr. D.W. Elliott.

Community Fun Day at Kipling UM

Kipling United Methodist Church will hold a free Community Fun Day at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, chips, drinks, bouncy house, games, bands and singing groups. They are asking for donations of school supplies for Lafayette Elementary and North Harnett Primary schools; however, it is not required to participate. There will be door prizes, silent auction items, bake sales and the North Harnett Fire, North Harnett EMT, the Harnett Sheriffs Office and State Highway Patrol will be there with Static displays and giveaways. Youth Choir anniversary celebration

On Sunday at 3 p.m., the Youth Choir will celebrate its first choir anniversary at Sampson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The theme is “Bee like Jesus.” Different choirs and praise dancers will be on the program.

On Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m., Pastor Laeulia Lisane will be honored on a pastor anniversary celebration at Sampson Chapel FWB Church. The colors are purple and silver. The speaker is Pastor Dr. Glenda Farmer.

The Anchormen
to be at Pentecost Worship Center

The Anchormen will be in concert Friday at 7 p.m. at Pentecostal Worship Center. The church is located at 2744 Ross Road, Lillington. A love offering will be received.

Revival starts Sept. 16 at Four Oaks AC

Four Oaks Advent Christian Church will hold revival services Sept. 16-18. The evangelist will be Scott Johnson from Stones Creek Advent Christian Church. Services will begin nightly at 7:30.

Homecoming will be Sunday, Sept. 15.

Point Level to hold fall revival

Point Level Disciples of Christ Church will hold its annual fall revival Sept. 11-13 at 7:30 nightly. The theme is “It’s Harvest Time!” Speakers will be Pastor Dr. Janie Robinson of St. Stephens Disciples of Christ Church, Dunn, Sept. 11; Pastor Elder Louise Royal of Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway, Sept. 12; and the Rev. Dr. Gertie Stevens of Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove, Sept. 13.

Anniversary, homecoming Sept. 15

Coats Christ Fellowship will celebrate its anniversary and homecoming Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Randy Anderson will be the guest speaker. In conjunction with the 2019 Back To Church Sunday, the anniversary theme this year is “Together.” An old-fashion dinner will follow.

Mingo Baptist Church will hold a community breakfast on Saturday from 6 to 10 a.m. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds will go to the building fund.

Trinity Lakeshore Pentecostal Holiness Church will honor the officers of the Dunn Police Department Sunday, Sept. 15, during the Sunday morning worship service. Women’s Day at The Love Center

The Women of The Love Center invite you for a women’s fellowship on Friday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. A prayer breakfast will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. A Women’s Day service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15. The guest speaker is the Rev. Genetta Williams of Fayetteville. A fellowship meal will be served following the service.

Fall revival at Davis Chapel

Davis Chapel Holiness Church, 164 Bruce Johnson Road, Lillington, will hold its fall revival Sept. 11-13 at 7:30 nightly. Apostle John Burnette, pastor of Antioch Holiness Church, Dunn,will be the speaker on Wednesday night. Shoe service at Mount Calvary

Williams from Smith Chapel Disciples of Christ Church, Selma. At 3 p.m. the speaker will be Dr. Gertie Stevens of Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove.
