Spring revival
starts April 16

Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church will hold a spring revival April 16-18 at 7 nightly. Speakers will be Pastor John Oliver, First Baptist Church, Roseboro, April 16; Pastor Ray Bolton, Red Hill MB Church, Clinton, April 17; and Bishop Frank Taylor, Church of God of Prophecy, Coats, April 18. Guest pastors will be accompanied with choirs, ushers and church family.

The church is located at 5260 Devil’s Racetrack Road, Four Oaks. The pastor is Dannie Robinson. The coordinator is Evangelist Dr. Hattie Lofton.

Jeff & Sheri Easter at Piney Grove Chapel

Multi-award winning vocal group, Jeff & Sheri Easter will be featured on Sunday at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, east of Angier. The service will begin at 6 p.m.

Jeff & Sheri Easter has garnered much radio success over the past 25 years, with many hit national releases, including their current Top 20 single, “On The Sea Of Life.” They have also enjoyed appearances at the famed Grand Ole Opry and have been featured on the Gaither Homecoming Video & Concert Series.

Barbecue chicken lunch, supper

Lee’s Chapel AC Church will hold a barbecue chicken lunch and supper Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Plates are $8 each and will include potatoes, string beans, hushpuppies and dessert. Dine in or take out will be available.

Rise up with
Jesus program

Spring Branch Baptist Church will hold a Rise up with Jesus Easter program Sunday. Join them for a hot air balloon Easter egg drop, hot dogs and an Easter program. Registration begins at 2:45 p.m. The Easter program starts at 3 p.m.

Pre-Easter gospel sing

A pre-Easter gospel sing will be held at Oak Grove AME Zion Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. Featured will be The Gospel Profits, The Chosen Voices, Promise of Lillington, The Spiritual Crusaders, The Master Keys and other groups. Gospel sing to benefit Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life team of Bethel OFWB Church, 3168 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks, will sponsor a gospel sing Saturday at 6 p.m. at the church. The Pea Shellers, a group of Langdon sisters from the Four Oaks area, and The Hickory Grove Quartet will perform. A love offering will be received for American Cancer Society. Birthday service at Redeeming Hope

There will be a birthday service for Deacon Al McAllister tonight at 7:30 at Redeeming Hope Through Christ Outreach Ministries. The speaker will be Pastor Clarissa Ruffin of Be Made Whole Ministry, Clayton. The host pastor is Overseer Phyllis McAllister. Redeeming Hope is located at 612-B Broad St., Dunn.

Service for those involved in agriculture

“Cultivating your freedom in Christ,” a special morning service for all those who are involved in agriculture, will be held Sunday at Benson PFWB Church. Whether you grow the seed, cultivate the soil, care for crops and animals or are involved in providing the nutrients, crop protection products and transportation to the farmers, you are invited to attend. The church is located at 205 E. Hill St., Benson.

The “Seven last words of Jesus on the cross” will be presented Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. at Point Level Disciples of Christ Church. Spring revival will be held April 24-26 starting at 7 nightly at Point Level DOCC. Speakers will be Pastor Elder Donald Graham of Sampson Chapel Church of Christ DOC, Clinton, April 24; Pastor Dr. Claudie Morrisey of Littlefield MB Church, Newton Grove, April 25; and the Rev. Ray Bolton of Red Hill MB Church, Clinton, April 26.

Community Easter egg hunt April 20

Hodges Chapel Church will present a community Easter egg hunt April 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at P.K. Vyas Park, 304 S. Lee St., Benson. This is a free event; remember to bring your own Easter basket and lawn chair. There will be food, inflatables, games for multiple age groups, an appearance by the Easter Bunny, face painting by Sybil the Clown and special entertainment by DJ Pdogg.

Musician appreciation program

Mingo Hill OFWB Church, located on U.S. 421 South, Dunn, will hold a musician appreciation celebration program Saturday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker is Minister Carol Warren, an associate minister at Nehemiah Building Ministries in Coats. All are invited. Elder Odetta Batts is the pastor.

Yard sale at Lee’s Grove PFWB

There will be a yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lee’s Grove PFWB Church, 6208 Fairground Road, Dunn.

Usher anniversary program

On Sunday at 3 p.m., Sampson Chapel Usher Department will hold its anniversary. The speaker will be Pastor Elder Timothy Thomas and Dunn Chapel Church family.

On Saturday, April 20, at noon, there will be a Easter fun day at Sampson Chapel to include a cookout, egg hunt, games and inflatables.

The host pastor is Elder Laeulia Lisane and the church is located at 8709 Green Path Road, Dunn.

Easter celebration begins at Beulah

Beulah Baptist Church will begin its Easter celebration Sunday. Immediately following the worship service at 12:30 p.m., everyone will enjoy a lunch of hot dogs with all the trimmings and desserts. After lunch, there will be an egg hunt, games and prizes. Everyone is welcome and there will be something fun for all ages.

Service will begin on Sunday, April 21, at 7 a.m. with the sunrise service outside at the crosses. Following at 7:30, everyone will enjoy a country breakfast followed with an Easter drama at 9. There will be no Sunday school. The worship service will begin at 9:45.

Beulah Baptist Church is located at 3140 N.C. 242 S., Benson.

Pre-Easter service set

Join Northeast FWB Church, located at 489 Northeast Church Road, Mount Olive, on Sunday at 6 p.m. for a pre-Easter service. Karson McCullen will share in songs and God’s word.

Maundy Thursday service

A Maundy Thursday Service will be held Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 271 Leslie Campbell Ave., Buies Creek. The community is invited to share in this special service during Holy Week. Focusing on Christ’s final days before the crucifixion, the service theme is hope, even in the midst of despair. The service will be led by the Chancel Choir of Memorial Baptist, accompanied by a chamber orchestra. “Hope in the Shadows,” a cantata by Joel Raney and Lloyd Larson, will be performed and will serve as the guide to the evening’s worship format. Communion (the Lord’s table) will also serve as a centerpiece of the service. All are welcome. Childcare will be available for this service.

Appreciation service for Justice

Lillington Star FWB Church will hold an appreciation service for its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Derrick A. Justice, Sunday at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. James Holmes of Raleigh. Dinner will be served following morning service. The church is located 183 Bailey Way Road, Lillington.

Evening of songs at The Love Center

The Love Center will present an Evening of Songs April 19 at 7 p.m. Featured will be The Gospel Prophets. Admission is free. The church is located at 345 Jackson Road, Dunn.

Smith Grove Male Chorus announcement

The Male Chorus of Smith Grove FWB Church will not hold its annual choir anniversary on April 20.

McKoy’s Chapel news

The pastor’s appreciation ministry will host a Shoe Rally tonight at 7:30 at McKoy’s Chapel Church. Elder Demetrius Elliott and his congregation from Green’s Chapel will render the service.

The ushers of McKoy’s Chapel will host Vice Bishop Wayne McKoy and his congregation from Star Hope on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Revival at
Evening Star

Revival will be held April 17-19 at Evening Star United Holiness Church. Service time is 7 nightly. Elder Samuel Pierce, pastor of New Temple Pentecostal Church, Grifton, will be the guest speaker. The Faithful Few will sing Wednesday and Thursday nights. The New Temple Pentecostal Choir will sing Friday night.

Eldress Sandra Baker will speak Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Refuge Temple Outreach Ministry in Garner.

Rainbow Tea
set Saturday

Green’s Chapel FWB Church will hold its Rainbow Tea Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Lillington Community Building. The colors are red, green, blue, white, orange, yellow and purple.

Passion Week revival

A Passion Week revival will be held April 17-19 at Mount Zion MB Church, 9030 Harnett-Dunn Highway, Dunn. Service time is 7:30 nightly. Speakers will be Minister Melba Ray of Littlefield MB Church, April 17; Elder Betty Ray of Sampson Chapel, April 18; and Elder Willa Strickland of Running Branch Disciple of Christ Church, Clinton, April 19.

The host pastor is the Rev. Floyd Ray.
