Holy Convocation starts Nov. 7

The 30th annual Holy Convocation will be held Nov. 7-11 at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church of Deliverance. Service times are 7 nightly, 6 p.m. on Nov. 10, and 11 a.m. on Nov. 11. The theme is “Expecting Greater.”

Speakers will be Apostle J.A. McDonald of Fayetteville, Bishop James Neal of Kenly, Apostle C.L. Campbell of Lumberton, Bishop J. Simpson of Raleigh and Overseer V. Mines of Newport News, Va.

Nehemiah Building anniversary celebration

Nehemiah Building Ministries will host its 15th year anniversary through Sunday. Services are tonight at 7:30 with Pastor John I. Brown of New Horizon Church of God, and Sunday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gracie A Moore of Greater Rock Outreach

Everyone is welcome. Host pastors are James and lady Carla Peterkin.

at Davis Chapel

Davis Chapel Holiness Church in Lillington has announced its November events. Tonight at 7, there will be a Joy Night service. The speaker will be Minister Susan Davis from Davis Chapel. On Nov. 11 at 10 a.m., Davis Chapel will hold its second Women’s Gathering. The speakers will be Evangelist Felicia McNeill of Maxton and Minister Juaneza Taylor of Fayetteville. The theme for this event is “Women on a Mission with a Purpose” and the color is red. All area women are invited to attend. For more information, call Minister Susan Davis at 910-658-1892. Jason Crabb, BHH

at Central Baptist

Jason Crabb and Butler, Hughes & Hayes will be in concert at Central Baptist Church on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. Kentucky-born Jason Crabb has won a Grammy and 21 Dove Awards — being named the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year along with Song of the Year. Butler, Hughes & Hayes has been singing together since 2006 starting out of Central Baptist Church. Doors have opened for them to sing in numerous churches, concerts and festivals singing with many of their heroes including sharing the stage with Bill Gaither and performances at the National Quartet Convention.

This concert was originally scheduled for Sept. 13 but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence. Tickets for the original date will be honored at this event.

Country breakfast

at Banner Chapel

A country breakfast will be held Nov. 10 from 7 to 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Banner Chapel Church. The breakfast is sponsored by the Mattie Beasley Society, Edna Phipps Society and Thee Men’s Group and funds raised will be used to support the church’s Honduras Team.

Banner Chapel is located on N.C. 50 East, Benson.

Plate sale fundraiser Nov. 10

Hood’s Grove Baptist Church will hold a barbecue chicken and pork fundraiser on Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. The cost is $8 per plate. For more information, call 919-894-5977.

A Special Delights bake sale will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at You Are Special Ministries.

Join You Are Special Ministries for an evening of color during their “A Promise, Is A Promise” Rainbow Tea Nov. 10 a 3 p.m. Keynote speakers will be First Lady, Eldress Betty Washington of Cutts Chapel and Pastor Alexandria Gainey of The Matrix Ministry. Warren Chapel Male Chorus celebrating

Warren Chapel Male Chorus is celebrating its 12th anniversary Sunday at 3 p.m. Special guests include Elder Richard Dowdy and the family of Pittsboro, Master Keys, New Hope, Mt. Zion, Sampson Chapel, Spring Hill, Chapel Hill and more. The church is located at 8190 Fayetteville Highway, Godwin.

Wesley Chapel

Members of Wesley Chapel AME Zion will celebrate pastor appreciation for the Rev. Charles Johnson with a praise and worship service tonight at 7. The speaker will be the Rev. Jonathan Pipkins along with guest choir and congregation of Restore Rebuild Repair located at 5427 Murchison Road, Fayetteville. On Saturday, the church is hosting a social gathering for the community in continuation of pastoral celebrations beginning at 7 p.m. Wesley Chapel is located at 74 Irene Roberts Road, Lillington.

Service times changing at Cumberland Street

The New Cumberland Street Baptist Church located at 200 S. King Ave., Dunn, will change service times this Sunday. A free breakfast will be at 9 a.m. and Bible study will begin at 9:30 a.m. Worship services will start at 10:30 a.m. All services are also being held in the fellowship hall.

Fall Family Fun Day

Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church will host Fall Family Fun Day Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, a bounce house, face painting, horse rides, craft vendors, classic cars, hot dog lunch, Pelican Sno-Balls, Ms. Jane & Friends and music by the Carr Trouble Band. The church is located at 238 Chalybeate Road, Fuquay-Varina.

Bethel Auxiliary hosting fall bazaar

Bethel OFWB Church Woman’s Auxiliary will host a fall bazaar Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade chili, soup, hot dogs, baked goods, crafts and second-time-around items will be available. Bonnie Parker, president, and members invite everyone to join them. The church is located at 3168 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks.

Pastor Ray to celebrate 15 years

in ministry

On Saturday, there will be a celebration of 15 years in the ministry in honor of Pastor Floyd Ray and first lady Shirley Ray. The event will take place at the Coats Senior Center, 214 Park Lane, Coats. The price is $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 11 and younger. Men’s and Women’s Conference set

Apostle Mary K. McKoy of Healing Center Ministry’s invites you to the 2018 Men and Women Conference this weekend at Healing Center Ministry’s, 1500 Brick Mill Road, Coats. The theme is “Waiting for the manifestations!” (Isaiah 40:31).

Today at 9:30 a.m., the morning sessions speakers are Quintton and Carol Robertson and Elder Mamie Cameron.

The 7 p.m. speaker tonight will be Prophet Calvin Suggs of Miracle Christian Center Wilson.

New Beginning will be at Union Hill

New Beginning Love Fellowship Ministries will travel to Union Hill FWB Church in Dunn Sunday at 11 a.m. for a homecoming service. The pastor is Larry Baker.

Roundtable in the Lord is Saturday

Royal Kingdom International will hold an Apostolic/Prophetic Roundtable In The Lord concerning his purpose and the state of Israel. The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cracker Barrel Restaurant, located at 1102 E. Cumberland St. in Dunn. Services at God’s House of Prayer

God’s House of Prayer will hold Friday night joy service tonight at the Dunn location. The preacher will be Senior Overseer Apostle Bob McArthur Sr. Service starts at 7:30. The Sunday morning worship service will be held at the Dunn location well. Guest preacher is Apostle Mary Nails from Solid Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church in Raleigh. Service will begin at 11 a.m. God’s House of Prayer Men are in charge of the service.

Friends and Family Day Sunday

Pleasant Grove FWB Church will have Friends and Family Day Sunday. The speaker will be Dr. Barbara Smith of Antioch FWB Church of Linden. Music will be rendered by the Hodges Family of Warsaw. Lunch will be served at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Eldress Shirley Blue from St. Stephens of Dunn and the church congregation. The church is located at 1520 Casper Road, Dunn. The pastor is Dr. Alexander McArthur and first lady Norma.

Pastor anniversary celebration at East Granville

The East Granville Street Church of God of Prophecy will celebrate Apostle Dennis H. Manuel’s 35th pastoral anniversary starting tonight at 7:30 with guest speaker Bishop Purdie Elliott and Anderson Creek Christian Center and conclude on Sunday at 10 a.m. with speaker Co-Pastor Margaret Henry. Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold Family and Friends Day Sunday at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Dr. Barbara Smith of Antioch FWB Church. At 3 p.m., the speaker will be Eldress Shirley Blue from St. Stephens Church, Dunn. Lunch will be served.

Cameron Grove to honor pastor

The fourth Pastoral Anniversary and Appreciation Banquet honoring the Rev. Kenneth Lamont Swann will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Stevens Center, 1576 Kelly Drive, Sanford. Ticket donation is $25 and may be purchased at the door.

The Worship Experience will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Cameron Grove Church, 309 Vernon St., Broadway. The guest speaker will be Elder Bertram Whitsettes of B.M.W. Ministries, Greensboro.
