On Saturday from 7 a.m. until, Union Hill Community Church will host a bake sale at Altman’s Grocery Barn, 5458 Fayetteville Highway, Godwin.

Ebenezer UM to celebrate homecoming

Ebenezer United Methodist Church, located on Harper House Road in the Bentonville community in Johnston County, will celebrate homecoming on Sunday. The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with guest speaker, the Rev. Dick Lewis, Ebenezer’s former minister. A catered lunch will follow with donations welcome. The Rev. Bill Spencer serves as pastor of Ebenezer Church.

Ushers anniversary program

Homecoming will be Sunday at Unity Advent Christian Church following the morning worship service. The pastor, the Rev. Jason Hudson, invites everyone.

Plate sale at New Zealand PFWB

A barbecue chicken lunch and supper will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at New Zealand PFWB Church. Plates are $8 each. An auction will begin at 5 p.m. Eat in or take out will be available. Drive thru will also be available.

Beulah Baptist to celebrate homecoming

Beulah Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming on Sunday at 11 a.m. Pastor Terry Hall of Chinquapin will be the guest speaker. Special music will be provided by Tim Coats of Unity Advent Christian Church.

A covered-dish lunch will be served following the service. All former members and family members are invited to come out and celebrate this special day.

Celebration

of Life program

Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1160 Red Hill Road, Cameron, will host its third quarter Celebration of Life program Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ricky R. McKinney Sr., choir, ushers, musicians and congregation from Olivers Chapel AME Zion Church, Staley.

Bishop Tavaris La Keith Johnson Sr. is the senior pulpitarian and Evangelist Whitnei Holman Johnson is the first lady.

Homecoming, pastor’s appreciation day

Homecoming combined with pastor’s appreciation day will be held Sunday at Dunn Advent Christian Church. Pastor Michael Whitley will be honored along with his wife, Larue, who serves as pianist. Pastor Whitley has been serving the church for more than 20 years.

The Hickory Grove Quartet will minister in music and song during the 10:30 a.m. service.

Following the morning message, a covered-dish luncheon will be served in the church’s fellowship building.

Harvest Day

at Stones Creek

Harvest Day will be held Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church. Barbecue chicken with boiled potatoes/potato salad and green beans will be available for eat-in or take-out. Donations will be accepted.

An auction will begin at 7 p.m. with lots of homemade cakes, goodies and a handmade quilt.

Zion Wall FWB Church will celebrate its 113th church anniversary and homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Elder Maurice McLaughlin from Malloy’s Grove FWB Church, Parkton. A guest choir will provide the music.

Homecoming at Bethesda Friends

Bethesda Friends Church will celebrate homecoming on Oct. 21. Pastor Jonathan Cook will bring the message on living out our name “Bethesda.” Special music will be provided by Barbara Jackson and Donna Lee. There will be a brief remembrance of the members who have gone to be with Jesus during this past year.

A catered lunch will be served following the worship service in the fellowship hall. The congregation extends an invitation for friends to join them for Sunday school at 9:30 and worship at 10:30 on this special day.

at Lees Chapel

Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church will hold its annual Harvest Sale Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Barbecue pork and chicken plates with potatoes, hushpuppies, coleslaw and dessert, will be sold for $ 8 per plate. Dine-in or take-out will be available.

The Harvest Sale auction will begin at 7 p.m. The sale includes homemade crafts, cakes, pies, applejacks, sweet potatoes, jams and jellies, and more.

Life Chain to be

held Oct. 21

Take a stand for life! On Oct. 21, members of Sacred Heart will form a Life Chain (standing in a line along the sidewalks of Cumberland Street), holding signs while praying peacefully for an end to abortion. Why do they do this? Because there are approximately 125,000 abortions per day. You’re invited to join them between 9:30 and 11 a.m. This event is for everyone. The more people they have participate, the longer the line will be and more signs for those traveling down the highway to read. They stand and pray, and leave the changing of hearts up to God. hold homecoming

Warren Chapel FWB Church, 8190 Fayetteville Highway, will be celebrate homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Pastor Tyman M. Wallace of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. Upcoming events

at Pleasant Grove

On Saturday, the Male Chorus of Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a gospel program. Service time is 4 p.m.

Sunday at 3 p.m., the Pastor’s Aide will hold a program at Pleasant Grove. The speaker will be the Rev. Herring of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Autryville.

On Oct. 17 and 18, there will be a revival at Pleasant Grove. Service time is 7 nightly. The speaker will be Elder Thomas Washington from Angier. Everybody is invited to come and get revived.

One-night revival at New Beginning

A one-night revival will be held tonight at 7:30 at New Beginning Love Fellowship Ministries. The guest speaker will be Pastor L.W. Lisane of Sampson Chapel FWB Church.

On Sunday at 11 a.m., Pastor Larry Baker of New Beginning Love Fellowship will be at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church in Lillington. On Sunday at 3 p.m., Elder Richard Dowy and the Dowy Singers of Mount Nebo Holiness Church in Bear Creek will render a service at New Beginning Love Fellowship.

Thanksgiving dinner boxes to be provided

This Thanksgiving season, Hodges Chapel Church would like to assist families that are in financial hardship by providing a Thanksgiving dinner box. The dinner box will consist of a meal that you can cook at your convenience.

Dinner boxes can be pre-ordered by coming to Hodges Chapel Church on Nov. 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. or Nov. 5 from noon to 7 p.m. A ticket will be given out when you pre-order and will be needed for picking up your dinner box on Nov. 16 from noon to 7 p.m. One dinner box per household.
