Fall Lunch and
Supper Saturday

Jonesboro Baptist Church will hold its Fall Lunch and Supper Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Homemade chicken pastry and barbecue pork plates will be sold for $8. Eat in buffet, take out and drive thru will be available. Delivery for 10 or more plates will also be available.

An auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are also available to win a Blackstone 36-inch flat grill.

This event is sponsored by the Jonesboro Baptist Church youth group. The church is located at 2020 Jonesboro Road, Dunn.

The Love Center
to host car show

The Love Center will host The All-America Car Show Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who enjoy car shows and those who like to show their vehicles are invited to attend. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church which is located at 345 Jackson Road, Dunn. There will be 24 trophies for each class. The categories are drag, Ford car/truck, Chevy car/truck, Dodge/Chrysler car/truck and classic 1957 and older. There will be cash prizes. Prayer Breakfast Revival Saturday

A Prayer Breakfast Revival will be held Saturday at Holy Mission Holiness Church. Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. and morning worship at 10.

The guest speaker will be Annette “Action Jackson” Jackson of Raleigh. The guest choir will be the Lillington Community Mass Choir.

Workshop at Mount Pisgah Harnett

Attorney Tenika B. Neely will give a workshop on the preparation of a will, power of attorney, and estate preparation at Mount Pisgah Harnett OFWB Church. The workshop will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. The church is located at 145 Prospect Church Road, Erwin.

Homecoming, revival at Lees Chapel AC

Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church will hold homecoming Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Al Hutchings. Lunch will follow immediately after the worship service in the fellowship hall.

Revival services with Rev. Hutchings will be held on Oct. 8-10 at 7:30 each night. Lees Chapel is located at 4154 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks.

Pastor appreciation service

You are invited to join Word of Power on Sunday at 3 p.m. for a pastor’s appreciation service. The guest speaker will be Bishop David Patterson from Walkers Chapel Reform Church in Dunn. Music will be provided by Ricky Simmons from Louisburg. Dinner will be served. The pastor is Felton Smith.

at Nehemiah

Nehemiah Building Ministries has been celebrating Pastor James and Lady Carla Peterkin on their 18th pastoral anniversary. The celebration will continue tonight at 7:30. Guest speakers are Pastor Cooper from Millennium Revival Center, Bishop Wayne McKoy from Star of Hope, and Assistant to the Bishop Thomas Washington of Cutts Chapel. On Saturday, a banquet will be held in their honor and on Sunday at 10 a.m., Pastor Gary Gainey will close out the celebration. Everyone is welcome.

at Davis Chapel

October events at Davis Chapel are as follows: Tonight, Davis Chapel will hold a Joy Night service. The speaker will be Minister Cathy Bell of Davis Chapel. Service time is at 7 p.m. and all are welcomed to attend. On Oct. 10-12 at 7:30 nightly, Davis Chapel will have its fall revival. There will be different speakers nightly. Because of Hurricane Florence, the revival was postponed.

at Mingo Hill OFWB

On Sunday, Mingo Hill OFWB Church will celebrate its 126th homecoming in “Old Fashion Style.” The morning service starts at 11:15. The guest speaker will be Elder Alexander Holmes, associate minister of Star of Hope OFWB Church, Sanford. A covered-dish lunch will be served after the service. Fall revival

Hardison to be homecoming speaker

Ferrell Hardison will speak at Evangel Church’s homecoming service on Sunday at 11 a.m.

After 42 years in ministry, including serving as lead pastor for the multi-campus The Bridge church in North Carolina, Mr. Hardison now serves as a preacher/teacher, consultant, coach and mentor for churches, church leaders, and various denominations. He is a seminar/conference speaker on the topics of marriage, parenting, leadership, church revitalization and more.

Holy Mission to celebrate anniversary

Holy Mission Holiness Church will celebrate its 27th church anniversary Oct. 10-14. The services will begin nightly at 7 and will close out Oct. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

Ebenezer UM to celebrate homecoming Oct. 14

Ebenezer United Methodist Church, located on Harper House Road in the Bentonville community in Johnston County, will celebrate homecoming on Oct. 14. The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with guest speaker, the Rev. Dick Lewis, Ebenezer’s former minister. A catered lunch will follow with donations welcome. The Rev. Bill Spencer serves as pastor of Ebenezer Church.

Founder’s Weekend at Mount Calvary Holiness

The 36th annual Founder’s Weekend celebrating Overseer E.J. Covington will continue tonight at 7 and Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mount Calvary Church of Deliverance. Speakers include Pastor Donta Covington of Smithfield, Pastor Cheryl McLean of Fayetteville and Pastor Kenneth Williams of Wilson. The theme is “Approved by God.”

Celebration of Life program Oct. 14

Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1160 Red Hill Road, Cameron, will host its third quarter Celebration of Life program on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ricky R. McKinney Sr., choir, ushers, musicians and congregation from Olivers Chapel AME Zion Church, Staley.

Yard sale at Redemptive Glory

On Saturday, Redemptive Glory Church will hold a yard sale from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Furniture, costume jewelry, baskets, household goods and electronics (some are free) will be sold. Revival at Overhills Community

Revival services will be held Oct. 7-10 at Overhills Community Baptist Church. On Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Dan Deaton. Lunch will follow the morning service. Services will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Rev. Deaton bringing the message. There will be special singing. A nursery will be provided.

Upcoming events at Pleasant Grove

The Men’s Fellowship of Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a fundraiser plate sale today from 10 a.m. until they sell out. The menu will consist of fish, chicken and barbecue and side orders will be potato salad, green beans, slaw, cake and hushpuppies for $8 a plate and $10 for combination. They will deliver with three or more plates. The church is located at 1520 Casper Road, Dunn.

On Oct. 13, the Male Chorus of Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a gospel program. Service time is 4 p.m.

On Oct. 14 at 3 p.m., the Pastor’s Aide will hold a program at Pleasant Grove. The speaker will be the Rev. Herring of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Autryville.

On Oct. 17 and 18, there will be a revival at Pleasant Grove. Service time is 7 nightly. The speaker will be Elder Thomas Washington from Angier. Everybody is invited to come and get revived.

Homecoming, Pastor’s Appreciation Day

Homecoming combined with Pastor’s Appreciation Day will be held Oct. 14 at Dunn Advent Christian Church. Pastor Michael Whitley will be honored along with his wife, Larue, who serves as pianist. Pastor Whitley has been serving the church for more than 20 years.

The Hickory Grove Quartet will minister in music and song during the 10:30 a.m. service.

Following the morning message, a covered-dish luncheon will be served in the church’s fellowship building.

Robert’s Grove to celebrate homecoming

Robert’s Grove OFWB Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday. Services begin with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. followed by the morning worship and memorial service at 11. A covered-dish meal will follow the morning worship service.

The church is located in the Spivey’s Corner community at 725 Robert’s Grove Road, near Midway Middle School. The pastor is the Rev. Ricky Warren.

Pre-homecoming musical program

McKoy’s Chapel will host a pre-homecoming musical program Sunday at 3 p.m. Several choirs, soloists and musical groups have been invited to perform. The event is free and open to the public.

Gospel sing at Free Gospel Community

There will be a gospel sing Saturday at 6 p.m. at Free Gospel Community Church. There will be five groups on the program including the Faith Singers, the Terry Darden Family and the Richard Simmons Group.

Fall revival begins Sunday at Unity AC

Unity Advent Christian Church will host its annual fall revival Sunday through Wednesday. Services begin each evening at 7:30 with prayer room at 7:10. On Sunday night, the guest speaker will be the Rev. Rick Crocker; Monday night, the Rev. Scott Johnson; Tuesday night, the Rev. Luke Copeland; and Wednesday night, the Rev. Jesse Brock. There will be special singing each night.

Homecoming will be Oct. 14 following the morning worship service. The pastor, the Rev. Jason Hudson invites everyone to come out and enjoy a great worship service.

Harvest Day Oct. 13
at Stones Creek

Harvest Day will be held Oct. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church. Barbecue chicken with boiled potatoes/potato salad and green beans will be available for eat-in or take-out. Donations will be accepted.

An auction will begin at 7 p.m. with lots of homemade cakes, goodies and a handmade quilt.

Deacon ordination service

A House of God will have a special deacon ordination service Sunday for Evon “Bubba” Smith who has been elected the first deacon of this New Millennium Church. The service will be held at 1445 Ammons Road, Dunn, at 11 a.m. and the sermon will be delivered by Dr. Dwarka Ramphal, president of New Millennium Ministries and the moderator will be Zay Fryar. The church started less than a year ago and meets every Sunday at 11 a.m. and Thursday at 7 p.m. for Bible study with Bible teacher, Collie Wallace.

Following this ordination, a confirmation of the office will be done at the Annual Conference on Nov. 2-4 at the Beach Colony Resort in Myrtle Beach. Smith Grove FWB Church will celebrate its pastor’s eighth anniversary. The service on Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. will be rendered by Bishop Brenda Johnson and Recruiters for Christ, Warren Chapel, Malloy Grove and Green’s Chapel. Homecoming Oct. 14 at Bethel OFWB

Bethel OFWB Church, 3168 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks, announces its annual homecoming on Oct. 14. Pastor Tod Creech and congregation invite everyone to join them in this celebration. Homecoming at Erwin Chapel PFWB

Erwin Chapel PFWB Church will celebrate its 106th homecoming Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The speaker will be Dr. Preston Heath. He was the former general superintendent of the PFWB Conference. Music will be provided by The Rivenbarks. Lunch will follow the service.

Erwin COG to celebrate homecoming

Erwin Church of God will celebrate its 88th homecoming Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The worship service will feature the Alcorta Band. A meal will follow in the Family Ministries Center.

5th Quarter Fellowship Service tonight

Tonight at 9, the Midway Area Churches Association will sponsor the 5th Quarter Fellowship Service after Midway High School’s football game. There will be praise and worship songs and speakers. There will also be free pizza, sodas, snacks, etc.

Mt. Carmel, Littlefield, Mt. Elam, Mt. Zion, Robert’s Grove, Shady Grove and other churches will sponsor this event.

of Prayer news

A Joy Night service will be held tonight at 7:30 at God’s House of Prayer in Dunn. The preachers will be Minister Hannah Campbell, Elder Apelles Hart II and Junior Prophet David McArthur Jr. Overseer Apostle Bob McArthur Sr. will preach in Fayetteville at Mt. Zion Apostolic Church at 5 p.m.

The Sunday morning worship service will be held in the Dunn location as well. This will be a Men’s Day service. The preacher will be Eldress Deborah Smith. Service time is 11 a.m. All music will be rendered by the GHOP Choir.

The Believers in concert this weekend

The Believers will sing at The Believers Church in Clayton Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for the church’s homecoming services. Sunday night at 6, The Believers will sing at Leslie United Methodist Church for their revival services.

Faith Builders to hold Fall Bazaar

Faith Builders Christian Center will hold a Fall Bazaar Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’re invited to come and enjoy shopping, crafts, door prizes and concessions.
